I am an ardent advocate for protecting the environment. No discussion. End of story. Never should a company or enterprise assume for the sake of their profit that their residual destruction of surrounding land, water or air be an acceptable price for us all to pay. Never.
And that would make me a hypocrite with some of my lifestye choices. Like driving a car that uses gasoline. If we live, eat and breathe, none of us are “innocent”.
However, I’m still calling BS on the current marketing of all things EV. All the science I look at says current EV technology is at best a carbon generating equivalent to biofuels and at worst a major polluter through the battery manufacturing process and the “atomic waste” factor of what to do with the non-recyclable battery components. Forget that there isn’t a reliable charging infrastructure.
The best analogy I saw was from a comment on the Breitbart Facebook post. It compared driving an EV to using a horse and buggy. It got you there, but it didn’t go very far before having to stop and rest for long periods of time…
The left looks at EVs the same way they look at AR15s. An AR15 is really a higher powered, more accurate 22LR. It isn’t remotely close to mil spec. It just looks like an AK or an M16/4. The AR in AR15 doesn’t mean assault rifle. It stands for ArmaLite Rifle. ArmaLite is the company that designed the semiautomatic mil look-alike in the 1950s. Keyword? Look-alike. The left uses their emotion driven psychosis to brand these ARs as military grade. They are not.
In like manner, because the left declares, see? There is no exhaust coming out of the back of your car! JOY TO THE WORLD!!! An EV has almost zero carbon footprint!
Facts and the big picture. Normally not the strong suit of the siloed left.
IMO…. OPINION…hydrogen seems like a more viable less polluting option. I truely support efforts to keep the environment clean. I don’t support the lemming head long rush to the wrong door.
