Kind of a personal perspective to start this commentary. I’d much rather do than watch. I wanted in the game. I flew planes. I’ve won tennis and golf tournaments. I played college basketball. I coached champions. I’ve led rescue teams. I’ve helped cut people out of damaged vehicles before their leaking fuel ignited. I’ve led support missions into war zones.
I’ve admired many people for many reasons, but I’ve never been much of a fan guy because I’ve been busy doing.
Meet Jared Isaacman. Your new NASA Administrator.

This is the “been there, done that,” section of “been there, done that.” The picture below is linked to a video of Jared’s space walk.
Imagine this. You are in North Carolina. It’s December 17th 1903. You’re at the beach watching these two knucklehead engineers getting this thing of theirs to “fly” for a hundred feet or so. And Professor Wright walks up beside you afterwards and says, “y’know, in the near future people by the millions will be flying bigger ones of these all over the planet and it’ll be safer than riding your horse to the General Store.”
Jared sees into our future in space with the same type of clarity. With the certainty of business, government and scientific experience.
It is my prediction that Jared’s appointment as NASA Administrator will be one of the most important moments in human history. He has all the goods to bring the right talent together with the right technologies to make the dream of economically feasible and far-reaching space travel become as common as current airline travel.
He will light the controlled fire of humanity’s next major strides in space exploration, habitation and a far reach into dreams not yet dreamt.
Buckle up. It’s going to be an amazing ride.
