Keep it simple, stupid.
This is going to be a long way to go for a very pertinent metaphor. It’s about the money.

I’ve been watching the dissolution of all college sports. They are morphing into a truer form of what they have always been. Their fraud past is exposed by NIL. College athletes were basically used as a money laundering scheme to transfer your wealth to the colleges coffers in the highest volume, most efficient way imaginable. Sports entertainment.
With the advent of NIL, where the athletes can get image profit compensation and even direct pay to play “salaries” from schools and booster clubs, the athletes have been handed the personal power of their individual marketing capacity. The football, basketball and baseball NCAA farm system that has always been going on is now front and center with the volume on blast and the curtains pulled back. It is and always has been about the money. It’s just now, however, that the athletes are able to get a more fair share of their true value of the wealth generation they provide. The market driven hypocrits guiding every university athletic department are now exposed and are having to split the profits.

And I’m laughing. It’s a boil that has been begging to be lanced. The drainage so far has been quite chaotic. However, I think the truth of it is worth the pain of making the adjustments.
College athletes have never been amateurs. They’ve just been in minimum wage developmental leagues.
OK. So why? Who benefits? It’s a college, for heavens sake. Not so fast.
Colleges are actually first and foremost the final resting place for intellectual “elites.” Those who can’t do, teach.. Tenured professors and the permanent administrative overpaid bloat that literally makes the rules furthers their ability to perpetuate their infallabilty fantasy while maintaining high salaries that reflect their “esteemed” position.

Colleges are also literally the home of pass through profitability for a host of secondary enterprises. Mostly in the form of research departments that have a large number of dependent “independent” contract entities. Graft, incest and waste are the key features. The fuel besides federal funding, which is a whole additional topic? A lot of it is? The athletic departments.
OK. Now, face-lift this line of thinking and think federal government spending. It’s all about the Benjamins. Every lobbyist, special interest, defense contractor, union, pharmaceutical company, foreign government, state, politician… the list goes on and on… wants one thing. Your money. Full stop.
It’s why currently, anyway, the left in the US seems like they have no goals but to create chaos.

Chaos requires? More rules. Covid anyone? More control. BLM riots? Bulk, unrestricted mail in ballots?

Shut down the government? It is their current tool to stop the Trump administration from upsetting the grift flow of DC gold bars.

Your taxes. Their pockets. This is the chorus, the refrain, of every piece of music you hear coming out of DC. Money money money money? Cloaked in “what’s really good for you because we’re smarter than you.”
Don’t dance to it. Don’t vote for it. For heaven’s sake, don’t fall for it.
Keep looking for candidates that have a clue. Good luck and God bless us. We need a bigger miracle to survive the left at this point.
Interesting read , with a lot of merit . I worked at Yale doing my trade and would spend 8 hours a day there . I found myself questioning a lot ? Was it really about the education ?
