Sometimes to fix an entrenched burocracy (different than bureaucracy) you need someone who isn’t afraid to break things. SECDEF Hegseth may just show us a thing or two.

One thing I’ve come to appreciate in the many combat veterans I’ve either done projects with or interviewed, they have a very keen sense of other people’s bullshit and almost zero patience with it.
Pete’s personal life isn’t, wasn’t perfect. Is, was yours? Just throwing that out there. I think he has matured, stabilized without losing his combat earned intensity or the fire that can be sometimes mistaken for maturity. Sometimes maturity is kicking someone’s ass.
The Pentagon has become a sucking chest wound of waste, corruption, inefficiency and a banana republic of ridiculous social engineering experiments.
A good combat commander never wants a fair fight. I’ll say that again. A good combat commander never wants a fair fight. A good commander wants his force in the field with overwhelming odds whenever possible. Pete gets that.
The sludge infested halls of the Pentagon are about to greet their new leader who couldn’t give half a damn whether they like him or not. He’s had good leaders and bad ones. He’s seen the results of both. With bad ones normally getting more people killed. You think the stars and bars of rank intimidate him? Welcome to hell gentleman/ladies. The light will be flipped on and the chaf burned away.

He wasn’t appointed to be a priest, babysitter, butt kisser or everybody’s friend. His job is to ready war fighters to kill people and break things as efficiently as possible. To get there he’s going to have to detonate the existing format of DOD SOP on an enormous scale. Can he do it? I guess we now get to find out.
I’m thinking if the Pentagon swamp/sewer/big govt left takes him down, at least you can be pretty sure they’ll be missing a few teeth and walking with a serious limp for their trouble. I’m OK with that.
God speed Brother. You know the music. Let er rip.
